BHA Awards First Scholarship
Normandale Community College Student Megan Palmer
BLOOMINGTON, MN, October 5, 2007. The Bloomington Hospitality Association (BHA) awarded their first scholarship as an association to Megan Palmer at an awards banquet held at the Ramada Mall of America hotel on August 30. In 2006, The BHA voted to approve the scholarship fund dedicated to students from our community who plan on attending Normandale Community College's hospitality program.
Megan Palmer is planning on using her scholarship towards an internship in the hospitality field, summer of 2008. Palmer expressed her gratitude, "I am very honored to be the first to receive this scholarship and I hope many students in the future will be honored in the same way. I would like to thank all the Hoteliers of the Bloomington area and south of the river, my professors in hospitality: Brian Bergquist, Dan Creed, Barbara Conner, and Barney Klecker, and my family and friends that have supported me along the way."
"The BHA scholarship is our most recent example of our commitment to community involvement by supporting its students and education," said Jim Saccoman, General Manager, Ramada Mall of America.
The Bloomington Hospitality Association is made up of hotel and restaurant owners and managers dedicated to creating partnerships, maintaining a unified voice and addressing issues relative to the industry.
