Outrigger Makes Appointments in Japan Sales Division
OAHU, HI, August 1, 2007. Rob Solomon, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Outrigger Enterprises Group, is pleased to announce the promotions of Danny Ojiri to Vice President of Japan Sales, William Bethel to Director of Japan Sales and to welcome newly-hired Kimiko Quan as Japan Sales Manager.
In his new role, Danny Ojiri will continue to direct all aspects of Outrigger's sales and market development efforts for the Japan market. Ojiri first joined Outrigger in 1998 as director of Japan Sales. Prior to joining Outrigger, Ojiri spent 20 years in a succession of management positions with Jetour Hawaii, formerly one of Hawaii's largest Japanese tour operators.
"This promotion is a reflection of the tremendous work, expertise, and success Danny has brought Outrigger in leading the way in growing our share of the Japan market" said Rob Solomon. Ojiri, whose father was a civil servant in the U.S. military, was born and raised in Japan before moving to the United States.
William Bethel's new responsibility as Director of Japan Sales includes supporting the Japan sales team in seeking new business and maintaining existing partnerships in the Japan market. Before joining Outrigger, Bethel's work experience included holding positions as a tour coordinator for JTB Hawaii, Japanese sales manager for Prince Resorts Hawaii, and hotel assistant manager for Hawaii Prince Hotel. In 2002, he joined Outrigger as Japan Sales Manager, the position he most recently held prior to his promotion. Bethel attended Zama American High School in Japan and received a Liberal Arts degree from Honolulu Community College.
With Bethel's promotion, Outrigger welcomes newly-hired Kimiko Quan to the position of Japan Sales Manager. Quan will assist Ojiri and Bethel in positioning Outrigger as a strong presence in the Japan's tourism market. Quan's extensive hospitality background includes Front Service Clerk, Righa Royal Hotel, Fukuoka Japan; Japanese Service Coordinator for Sheraton Moana Surfrider Hotel; Japanese Guest Service Manager for Kahala Mandarin Oriental, where she was later promoted to Hotel Assistant Manager; and Asian Service manager for Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel. Most recently, she held the position of catering sales manager for The Ilikai Hotel in Honolulu. Quan received a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Colorado State University.
