Global leader in luxury travel to underwrite major public broadcast series.
NEW YORK, NY, July 25, 2007. The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd., the preeminent global luxury hospitality organization, is pleased to announce it has become a principal sponsor of travel journalist Rudy Maxa's 2008 public television series, "Rudy Maxa's World."
"I'm delighted to partner with such an impeccable organization," said Mr. Maxa, host of 65, half-hour travel shows currently broadcast on more than 300 public television stations in the U.S. "And I look forward to an exciting new season of shows featuring some of the world's great destinations."
In its role as a program supporter, The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. provides major funding for "Rudy Maxa's World" in exchange for underwriting messages at the open and close of the 2008 season of shows that will focus on destinations including St. Petersburg (Russia), Estonia, Turkey, Argentina, Thailand and India.
"We know public television delivers an educated, involved audience," said Paul M. McManus, president and chief executive officer of The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. "And we also know Rudy's shows offer a lively and fascinating look at places travelers love to visit-or dream about visiting. Leading Hotels is proud to help make those shows possible."
He continued by saying, "This effort supports our company's marketing strategy to enhance our position as a major consumer-facing brand, giving us - and our member hotels - an unprecedented opportunity to communicate directly to a sophisticated and highly desirable audience."
The 2008 series, to be distributed by American Public Television in cooperation with Twin Cities Public Television, is expected to debut on public television stations next April. Each of the 13 episodes will be filmed in High Definition and will focus on the history, culture, people and cuisine of a specific city or region.
