Fairmont Names GM of The Plaza in New York
Formerly the Managing Director of The Mansion on Turtle Creek, Dallas
TORONTO, Canada, July 17, 2007. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is pleased to announce the appointment of Shane Krige as General Manager of The Plaza Hotel in New York City. Following a $400 million lobby-to-roof renovation, Krige will oversee all activity for the hotel segment of the new development, which includes 282 hotel rooms and condo-hotel units. The hotel is slated to open this fall, to coincide with the landmark property's 100th anniversary.

A native of South Africa, Krige has spent the last 15 years canvassing the globe during his hospitality career, much of it in five-star hotels including The Mansion on Turtle Creek, London's historic Grosvenor House and Ritz Carlton properties in Washington D.C. Accompanying Krige on his move from Dallas, Texas is his wife and two children.
