JULY 12, 2007. Several foreign companies are showing their keen interest in building luxury hotels in Vietnam, particularly in Ho Chi Minh City, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

A Slovakian company revealed its plan to invest US$500 million into construction of two luxury hotels, including one in HCM City, on the heels of a suggestion of 21 sites for hotel building in HCM City presented by the City's Department of Tourism.

Construction sites at the centre of the city's district one have proved the most attractive to foreign investors. The city welcomed 182 FDI projects worth a total of $576 million in the first six months, including 21 projects in the construction sector with a combined investment capital of $20.2 million.
