Marriott Appoints GM at Nago, Okinawa
TOKYO, Japan, July 9, 2007. Effective from June 15, 2007, Erol Miftahittin has been appointed General Manager of the Okinawa Marriott Resort & Spa, located in Nago, Okinawa.
Since beginning his career in 1983 at the Holiday Inn Yokohama, presently Rose Hotel Yokohama, Mr. Miftahittin brings more than 23 years of hotel industry experience from his roles as Regional Vice President Micronesia at the Castle Resorts & Hotels, Senior Vice President at the Rose Hotels International as well as General Manager of Operations at the Onward Beach resort and the Onward Agana Beach Hotel in Guam before he joined Okinawa Marriott Resort & Spa as Director of Operations in 2006. He was then promoted to his current position as General Manager. In addition to his vast hotel experience, Mr. Miftahittin was the Director of the Guam Visitors Bureau and Co- Founder and Vice Chairman of the Guam Tourism Foundation in 1999. He was the Board of Director of the Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association from 1993-1999 (Chairman 1995/1996/1998).

As an American born in Tokyo on April 18, 1964, he attended the Yokohama International School from Kindergarten to High School. After graduation, he obtained an Accounting Degree from Merritt Davis College in Oregon, USA. He is fluent in both English and Japanese.
