Pacific Islands Get Web Facelift
JUNE 12, 2007. south-pacific.travel announced the completion of a series of improvements to the websites of its member countries. In a project funded by the European Union, south-pacific.travel partnered with Reserve Group of New Zealand to upgrade the national tourism web sites of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu and Kiribati.
Mr Tony Everitt, south-pacific.travel's Chief Executive said: "A core part of our mission at south-pacific.travel is to develop tourism in the South Pacific region. One way in which we do this is by providing technical assistance to our member countries."
He added: "We have been providing technical assistance in the field of the Internet for the last four years and have seen tremendous improvements in the capabilities of our country members as a result."
The upgrades to south-pacific.travel's member country websites include interactive flash based maps, dynamic flash banners and improved site look and feel.
