Crerar Hotels has acquired Chevin Country Park Hotel at Otley in West Yorkshire for lb5.5 mil
OCTOBER 10, 2006. This outstanding three-star country hotel becomes the seventh in the Crerar stable, and the first outside Scotland. All the Crerar Hotels are in beautiful locations and Chevin Country Park Hotel is no exception, located in an idyllic 44 acre woodland and lake site on the edge of Otley.
The hotel is a wonderful timber structure, thought to be one of the largest in the country, and the facilities include conference and function rooms, galleried restaurant with views across the lake, a bar and leisure club. The hotel has 49 highly individual bedrooms, many of which are within pine lodges with pitched grass covered roofs enabling them to blend into the woodland environment.
Adjacent to the hotel is Chevin Forest Park which offers a variety of activities including hiking, rambling for the more active guest, pony trekking and fishing. The hotel is located close to several golf courses and for the shopaholics Leeds, Harrogate and York are nearby, with quaint market towns Otley and Skipton within easy reach.
The hotel has planning approval for a lakeside extension to the restaurant, lounge bar extension, enlargement of the leisure club to create a luxury health spa, a new fully self-contained detached lakeside function suite and 21 detached 3 and 4 bedroom woodland lodges.
