Pegasus Signs New Agreement with Constellation
Largest Australian-owned Hotel Management Company Taps Unirez by Pegasus
DALLAS, TX, June 7, 2007. Constellation Hotel Group, the largest Australian-owned hotel management company, has signed a three year agreement with Pegasus Solutions for representation of 35 of its hotels through Unirez by PegasusTM with more targeted to come on-line later in the year.
The arrangement establishes Pegasus as a preferred partner with Constellation for connection to the four major global distribution systems- Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan - and third-party Web sites, including more than 1,000 leading travel Web sites worldwide. Constellation, which recently expanded its hotel footprint through acquisition of Sundowner Motor Inns and a franchise partnership with The Federation of New Zealand Hotels, will benefit twofold from the agreement, according to Olivier Dombey, Pegasus regional vice president, Asia Pacific.
"As one of the largest hotel operators in Australia with a presence in a variety of areas and through five brands, it's important for Constellation to break through to the right customer with the right rate and property," said Dombey. "Working with Pegasus' Unirez, Constellation will gain a competitive advantage through optimized global distribution with reduced costs, and targeted marketing and rate campaigns."
Constellation will also use representation through Unirez to manage rates and distribution channels in real-time, enter unlimited room and rate types, and manage channels independently from a single database. Jonathan Wooller, group general manager of Constellation Hotel Group, said Unirez was the natural choice.
"Given our more than 20 year history, it made sense for us to select a representation service with a strong background in distribution and rate management," said Wooller. "The Unirez by Pegasus offering, coupled with Pegasus' international advantage, were key factors in our final decision."
For Pegasus, the agreement with Constellation continues a growing trend towards representation in the Asia Pacific region. Pegasus has also recently announced agreements with Berjaya of Malaysia, Jinling of China, and Ascott of Singapore.
