KANSAS CITY, MO, May 2, 2007. The InterContinental Kansas City at the Plaza today announced that a $15 million total restoration of all guest rooms and public spaces is scheduled to begin July 10, 2007. The transformation will be completed in November 2007 and will be a remodel of all 366 guest rooms and public spaces, including the Oak Room Restaurant, Oak Bar and the Lobby.

"The InterContinental Kansas City will be completely refurbished to provide our guests with the very best in luxury accommodations, dining and entertainment," said Dean Chininis, InterContinental's General Manager. "We are committed to restoring the great community feeling that this is Kansas City's hotel."

The guest rooms will be completely refurbished with custom-designed furniture and luxurious guest room accessories. During the restoration, The InterContinental will make every effort to ensure that guests won't be inconvenienced during their stay. By conducting this project one entire floor at a time, The InterContinental will be able to function normally with minimal distraction or disturbance.

"The restoration is a part of The InterContinental's ongoing commitment to the highest standards of quality and comfort," said Janis Cannon, Vice President of Branding InterContinental. "We are looking forward to bringing a new level of luxury to Kansas City."
