Wolfgang Krueger Appointed GM of Shangri-La, Tokyo
FEBRUARY 7, 2008. Wolfgang Krueger has been appointed general manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo, opening March 2009 as the first Japan property for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia Pacific's leading luxury hotel group.
Mr. Krueger has over two decades experience in the hotel industry. He was most recently general manager for Shangri-La hotels in Taipei and Manila for four years. Previously Mr. Krueger held management positions at Mandarin hotels in Hawai'i, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong. He began his career with Hilton International and posts in Turkey, England and his native Germany.
Mr. Krueger is a member of the Cornell Society of Hotelmen, HCIMA (Hotel & Catering International Management Association) and World Association of Chefs.
The 206-room Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo will be located beside the Tokyo Station in the Marunouchi district, the prime location is expected to attract local corporate patrons, discerning diners, and international business and leisure travelers. The hotel will feature CHI, The Spa at Shangri-La - the group's signature spa brand, an array of dining experiences, meeting and banquet space including grand ballroom and wedding chapel.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently owns and manages 55 hotels under Shangri-La and Traders brands with a rooms inventory of over 28,000. Shangri-La hotels are five-star deluxe properties featuring extensive luxury facilities and services. Shangri-La hotels are located in Australia, mainland China, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Sultanate of Oman, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
