Regent Brings Five-star Luxury to the Philippines
FEBRUARY 15, 2008. A ground-breaking mixed-use development featuring The Regent Manila Bay will herald the entrance of luxury hospitality leader Regent Hotels & Resorts to the Philippines.
Regent Manila Bay will be located on Seaside Boulevard in the Mall of Asia Complex, a 148-acre commercial and business complex that includes a convention center, business district, waterfront esplanade and the 4,155,000-square-foot SM Mall of Asia. A destination shopping and dining complex that attracts nearly one million visitors per weekend, the SM Mall of Asia offers the country's first IMAX theatre, an Olympic-sized skating rink, 600 international retail stores and 150 restaurants.
Opening Fall 2009, The Regent Manila Bay will be part of a unique hotel-within-a-hotel development, offering five-star luxury accommodations within the Radisson Hotel Manila Bay. The hotels will share a common structure but will have separate driveways, entrances, lobbies, guest facilities and staff. Both hotels will overlook scenic Manila Bay and will offer easy access to nightlife and entertainment in the nearby Makati, Ermita and Malate Districts.
The 80-suite Regent Manila Bay will be an all-suite boutique property offering 10 suites, 69 executive suites and one 1,310-square-foot presidential suite. The Regent Manila Bay will feature a signature restaurant in addition to a lobby lounge, fully-equipped fitness center and swimming pool for exclusive use by Regent guests.
"We are pleased to announce this exciting new Regent property, the latest in the brand's extensive global expansion," said Bjorn Gullaksen, President of the Regent Luxury Group. "We look forward to bringing the distinctive Regent Experience to new customers in key destinations around the world."
Martin Rinck, president and managing director of Carlson Hotels Worldwide - Asia Pacific, added, "The Regent Manila Bay and Radisson Hotel Manila Bay represent a strategic opportunity for Carlson in the Philippines, with Manila being a key commercial hub and gateway to the rest of the country."
