Staybridge Opens Two Extended-stay Properties in Canada
Staybridge Suites Guelph and Oakville-Burlington are welcomed into thriving communities
FEBRUARY 27, 2008. Staybridge Suites announced the expansion of its Canadian portfolio with the opening of two luxurious new hotels, Staybridge Suites Guelph and Staybridge Suites Oakville-Burlington. A member of IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) PLC, Staybridge Suites first entered the Canadian market in 2000. With the addition of these hotels, there are now seven Staybridge Suites properties across Canada.
'There is a strong trend towards extended-stay hotels in the North American market,' said Robert Radomski, vice president, Brand Management, Extended-Stay Brands, IHG. 'People either travelling on business, relocating or planning a vacation with family are discovering that upscale extended-stay hotels offer the best of both worlds - all the comforts of home such as full kitchens, comfortable living areas and laundry access, plus the added benefits of a full-service hotel such as housekeeping and meal services.
'Staybridge Suites is leading the market in upscale extended-stay properties by introducing luxurious amenities into suites that feel like home. It is a formula that is resonating with our guests and has fueled our initiatives for further expansion across Canada,' adds Radomski.
At both Staybridge Suites Guelph and Staybridge Suites Oakville-Burlington guests may choose from three suite types: deluxe studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom/two-bath. Each have fully equipped kitchens featuring full-size refrigerator with icemaker, microwave, stovetop and dishwasher, complimentary deluxe daily hot breakfast buffet and mid-week evening receptions, speaker phone with individual voicemail and direct dial access plus free local calls, 24-hour business services, complimentary guest laundry facilities, home theatre facilities including a 50' plasma TV, outdoor courtyards with BBQ pavilions, and 24-hour Bridgemart(R) convenience stores.
In addition, in keeping with the 'just like home' approach, both hotels offer complimentary 'Wireless Anywhere,' which allows guests to access wireless high-speed Internet anywhere on property. And, perhaps 'better than home,' each hotel also boasts a heated indoor swimming pool and fitness facilities. Even Fido and Fifi are welcome! Guests are invited to bring all family members, including pets.
The 116-suite Staybridge Suites Guelph is located at 11 Corporate Court, within the Hanlon Business Park, Guelph's emerging business district. To provide all the 'creature comforts' of home, the hotel offers discounted memberships at the nearby YMCA, spacious work desks in each room, complimentary guest laundry facilities, and even an indoor putting green. And, to provide guests the ultimate in convenience, the hotel even offers a grocery shopping service.
'Guelph is an area of great diversity,' said Gord Bossey, CHA, General Manager, Staybridge Suites Guelph. Just 100km west of Toronto, Guelph is one of the fastest growing economic regions in Canada boasting a premier research university and a diversity of manufacturing, service, and high technology enterprises. 'We are in an ideal location to provide a home-away-from-home to people who are either doing business in the area, or are here to enjoy some of our regional attractions including St. Jacob's Farmer's Market, the University of Guelph and the Wings of Paradise Butterfly Conservatory,' Bossey added.
The 105-suite Staybridge Suites Oakville-Burlington is located at 2511 Wyecroft Road, off the QEW Highway at Bronte Road in the heart of beautiful Bronte Village. Midway between Toronto & Niagara, the hotel is 30 minutes from downtown Toronto and 45 minutes from the U.S. border.
'This is an area of incredible growth,' said Marcelo Tomazo, General Manager, Staybridge Suites Oakville-Burlington. Oakville is home to over 250 national and international corporate headquarters and features key attractions such as Bronte Village, Bronte Creek Provincial Park, Glen Abbey/RattleSnake Point/Deerfield golf courses and the Niagara Wine Region. 'With major businesses close by, we're able to cater to those who plan to stay for longer periods of time while travelling for business, as well as those visiting the area for its appealing tourist attractions,' added Tomazo.
