Holiday Inn Market Center Opens Near Downtown Dallas

. October 14, 2008

MARCH 10, 2008. The new 200-room Holiday Inn Market Center has opened. The hotel, which is located steps from Dallas's Market Center (the world's largest wholesale merchandise market), underwent an extensive $7 million renovation, resulting in significant changes to its exterior facade and completely-redesigned guestrooms, suites, lounges and meeting space. The hotel, which was also re-flagged under the Holiday Inn brand as part of the renovation, is located at 4500 Harry Hines Boulevard, less than two miles from downtown Dallas.

The hotel is owned by a private investment group led by Thomas J. Corcoran, Jr., the 2008 chairman of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (the largest trade association representing the U.S. lodging industry). Dallas-based Prism Hotels & Resorts has been selected to manage the property.

The new Holiday Inn Market Center will also be home to the hotel brand's new signature coffee bar, The Greenbeanery. The Greenbeanery will serve Rainforest Alliance-certified coffee, which means that at least 30 percent of the beans used to brew the coffee come from farms that have met rigorous environmental and social standards including biodiversity conservation, worker protection and healthcare and education for children of farm workers.

The nine-story Holiday Inn Market Center also has 200 brand-new guest rooms and 16 suites, each with 32" high-definition flat-panel TVs and complimentary high-speed wireless Internet access. In addition, the hotel has a full-service American-style restaurant and lounge, more than 1,600 square feet of meeting space and an outdoor pool.

Prism Hotels & Resorts currently manages more than 5,000 hotel and resorts rooms across the United States and the Caribbean.
