SAN FRANCISCO, CA, September 23, 2008. This month, the South of Market (SOMA) district of San Francisco welcomed two distinctive new hotels with the official openings of the Americania Hotel and the Carriage Inn, both located across the street from one another on Seventh Street. This area of the city has seen a recent revival with the openings of several iconic properties, galleries and museums in the last year. The 143-room Americania will debut a fun new retro look which includes new quirky and vibrant-colored furniture, linens, artwork and amenities, that pay tribute to America's past. Pieces from favorite board games from years gone by are found scattered throughout the d'ecor and whimsical touches such as Jelly Bellys will be offered upon check-in. The Carriage Inn

The 48-room Carriage Inn tips a hat to San Francisco's well-known luminaries and eccentrics-both naughty and nice. The hotel guestrooms have been designed with a witty sensibility, in honor of these local unconventional legends.
