Bill Mabrey New VPO Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
HOLLYWOOD, FL, September 25, 2008. Bill Mabrey has joined the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino as vice president of operations. He will oversee hotel operations through several departments including sales and catering, food and beverage, reservations, concierge, facilities and recreation services.
Mabrey possesses 25 years of senior management experience in the hospitality industry. He has worked for several casinos and hotels including Harrah's Entertainment, Inc./Caesars Entertainment, Inc. in Indiana and Missouri, Doubletree Guest Suites in Indiana, Embassy Suites in Indiana, and various Brock Hotels. He also worked for the Native American Upper Skagit Indian Tribe in Washington.
Mabrey served as the vice president of hotel, entertainment, and convention operations for Caesars Indiana from 2000-2008 during the pre-opening where he was responsible for all aspects of sales and catering, entertainment, golf operations, and retail. He was the general manager for Doubletree Guest Suites Indianapolis/Carmel, Indiana, a Meristar Hotels & Resorts property, from 1998-2000 where he repositioned the hotel in the marketplace and directed a complete refurbishment of the property.
From 1993-1998, Mabrey served as the director of hotel food and beverage operations for Harrah's St. Louis Riverport. During that time, he directed the property's opening of a 291-room hotel, conference center, and five food and beverage outlets. For three years beginning in 1993, he worked as vice president of hotel operations and vice president/general manager for Harrah's in Las Vegas, Nevada and Bow, Washington, respectively. In Harrah's Skagit Valley, he directed the opening of this Native American casino resort owned by the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe. Mabrey's hospitality management experience extends back to 1974 when he served in various capacities for nearly 20 years with Embassy Suites Indianapolis Downtown and several Brock Hotels throughout the U.S.
Mabrey is a member of the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County and serves both on the board of directors and as treasurer. He graduated with a bachelor of science in Business Administration from Western Kentucky University, KY and holds a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) certification. He is married with two children.
