Dakota Taps Pegasus Solutions

Support for Best Rate Guarantee Pricing Strategy

. October 14, 2008

DALLAS, TX / LONDON, UK, October 31, 2006. Dakota Hotels has tapped Pegasus Solutions' Utell(R) by Pegasus representation service to help support the company's best rate guarantee pricing strategy. Introduced at Dakota's two properties in the UK, Nottingham and Eurocentral near Glasgow, the transparent pricing structure will offer customers and travel agents just one rate for each room type.

Through the use of Utell, Dakota's best rate guarantee pricing will be displayed for users, including travel agents, consortia members, travel management companies and consumers across all distribution channels. John Seaton, regional sales director for Pegasus, says this approach will help Dakota ensure their users are finding the best rates with the least effort.

"Dakota is one of the first in the industry to implement a pricing structure like this, and we at Pegasus are happy to help execute it," Seaton said. "By offering solutions to manage Dakota's distribution channels and empowering the company to maintain its own pricing strategy, we will help maximize revenue potential and growth."

Utell by Pegasus, the world's largest hotel representation service representing more than 700,000 rooms worldwide, enables hotel groups like Dakota to be available on the four major GDSs and on more than 1,000 Web sites around the world. With Utell representation, Dakota will benefit from proactive marketing by Pegasus to travel agencies, consortia, and corporate accounts. Dakota will also be represented through Pegasus' network of call centers, promoted to travel agents through special rate campaigns by the Pegasus' sales force and receive "preferred supplier" status through nearly 200 leading travel agencies worldwide.

The Dakota Nottingham has been represented through Utell since June 2004, which led to the expanded relationship, according to Kevin Farey, sales and marketing consultant at Dakota.

"After working together with Pegasus for two years on the Dakota Nottingham, we knew the Dakota Eurocentral needed similar representation and service," Farey said. "With this program, we were excited to have the support of Pegasus' industry-leading representation and distribution services."

Dakota's next hotel at Forthbridge, Scotland, will open in March 2007, and nine additional properties are expected to be announced later this year.
