Kor Opening Loden Vancouver in British Columbia

. October 14, 2008

VANCOUVER, Canada, October 7, 2008. Los Angeles-based Kor Hotel Group proudly announces the much anticipated opening of its first Canadian venture and the latest hotel to join its highly acclaimed 'Urban Retreat' portfolio. On October 18, Vancouver welcomes Loden. Inspired by a name representing a deep, indulgent shade of the colour green, Loden Vancouver, along with its restaurant Voya, will bring Vancouver a refreshed and a uniquely Kor experience, offering unparalleled amenities, high design and intuitive service.

"Loden Vancouver represents the next step in Kor's collection of sophisticated urban hotels," said Nicholas Clayton, President of Kor Hotel Group. "Vancouver's international allure and natural beauty is the ideal backdrop for a hotel that will embody all that makes Vancouver such a beautiful place."

Loden's 77 contemporary rooms and host of amenities will be housed in a newly constructed, 14-story tower built with a visionary balance where modern meets nature. Vancouver, a city of deep colours and lush abundance, provides the inspiration for elements that are carried into the hotel's design. Loden's curved glass, natural stone and copper exterior mimic ocean waves, symbolic of the British Columbia coastline.

"Loden's opening signals an important moment for Vancouver hospitality," says General Manager Edel Forristal. "We will raise the bar with our level of service and our impressive team to complement the hotel's superb, stylish and iconic surroundings."

Voya Restaurant, led by locally lauded executive chef Marc-Andre Choquette, will be the centrepiece of Loden's food and beverage program. Evocative of voyage, the name is a window into the philosophy of Voya - that food can be a journey unto itself. The intimate 80-seat restaurant and lounge will host guests to a transformational experience, delivering them to brilliant worlds of tastes, presentations and textures.

Sumptuous interior design by San Francisco-based hospitality design firm, Babey Moulton Jue & Booth, uses atypically bold patterns and deluxe finishes to create a refined ambience throughout the hotel. Loden offers six suites including a 1,600-square-foot penthouse Halo suite, and a second-floor wellness centre that includes an intimate day spa and fitness studio with personal training sessions available.

With the simultaneous opening of Voya Restaurant, Loden Vancouver in Coal Harbour will soon become the destination for those seeking the finest in guest services, luxurious surroundings and inspiring cuisine.
