Crowne Plaza Williamsburg Presents Celebration of Trees
Event Raises Funds for Local Non-profit Organizations
WILLIAMSBURG, VA, December 5, 2008. The Crowne Plaza Williamsburg hotel recently announced the 2008 Annual Celebration of Trees, a community partner event that was successfully launched in 2005 as a family fund-raising opportunity for the area's non-profits and the community.
This year's event will began on November 30 and runs through December 17, 2008. Over 20 holiday trees will be set up and decorated by representatives of generous participants in a community-judged competition, selected by in-kind donations for the most original and festive trees.
On December 17, the Williamsburg, VA hotel invites the public to attend the Celebration Finale event from 6:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. This event will include the announcement of the $500 donation winner of the tree decorating contest, holiday treats and seasonal entertainment by local performers.
"During this period we invite the public and our guests to walk through our lobby and public spaces and 'vote' with their donation for their favorite tree," explains Connie Brewer, Director of Sales & Marketing for The Crowne Plaza Williamsburg at Fort Magruder. "The donations are collected at our front desk and secured for the organization for which it is designated. At the end of the display, we count up the donations and the organization that has the most, gets awarded an additional $500 from our hotel. This event was well received last year by our community as we raised more than $27,000 for the various organizations."
This year's participants include:
o Williamsburg AIDS Network

o Alzheimer's Association SE Chapter
