Rock Resorts to Open Osprey at Beaver Creek Dec 20

. December 12, 2008

DECEMBER 12, 2008. Redefining slopeside style, The Osprey at Beaver Creek, A RockResort, is scheduled to open December 20 in the heart of Beaver Creek Resort in Colorado. The closest ski-in/ski-out hotel to a chairlift in North America, The Osprey will captivate travelers with its sophisticated alpine-chic design, 45 luxurious accommodations, a hotspot social scene, and posh yet playful services and amenities.

When the boutique hotel is unveiled this month following a $7 million dollar transformation, The Osprey at Beaver Creek, formerly known as The Inn at Beaver Creek, will allure guests with a seamless fusion of sleek sophistication, luxury, and high-energy adventure to inspire and delight. Every aspect of the guest experience will be oriented to this purpose. From the ultra-swank decor to uber-hip services, The Osprey will aim to please all the senses and satisfy every whim.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with chill music to set the vibe and a chic urban/mountain design that encompasses edgy glamour. The trendy bar will offer custom cocktails along with regular mixology lessons, and a tapas-style menu with memorable treats such as lobster nachos, grilled brie sandwiches or a stack of hand-dipped onion rings with spicy chipotle mayo. A refined and creative wine list will offer an intriguing selection, including a number of organic varieties.

Providing a see-and-be-seen setting, an atmosphere of "play" and excitement will be noticeable throughout The Osprey where guests can cozy up in front of a fireplace in the giant social room and watch a James Dean classic on a flat-screen TV, drum up a board game challenge with new friends or face off in a Wii system competition while enjoying a fine wine. Guests can also plug in and share the day's adventure on the slopes as filmed from their personal helmet cams, a rental amenity provided by the hotel's personal concierges.

The Osprey will offer a fitness facility as well as an outdoor heated pool, steam room and sauna. The hotel's pool deck will be an enticing natural setting for the apres ski scene with outdoor lounge seating, a fire pit and full bar service.

The Osprey's 45 guest rooms will incorporate warm colors and richly textured surfaces such as leather, birch, iron, and onyx made from locally sourced stone, indigenous metals and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified wood. Dallas, Texas-based architect and design firm Looney & Associates has overseen the transformation of the hotel. The Osprey's guest rooms will feature elegant furnishings, the same chic decor as the public spaces, the finest linens, and other lavish touches RockResorts are known for such as plush robes, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, MP3 player docking stations, customized pre-stocked refreshment centers and wireless Internet. The Osprey's signature services will include a bath concierge who can arrange spa detoxifying baths, romantic or kid-focused bathtubs.

The Osprey is centrally located in Beaver Creek Resort, which was rated the #6 best ski resort in North America by Ski Magazine this year as "truly one of America's finest skiing experiences." Beaver Creek Resort sets the standard for luxury family skiing, consistently scoring high marks for its commitment to service, slope grooming, dining and lodging. The ultimate setting for winter outdoor enthusiasts, skiers stepping off the hotel's back deck will be treated to a high-speed quad lift just 20 feet away. Guests can bring their own ski and snowboarding equipment, have it shipped ahead of the visit or arrange for custom rental gear to be delivered. Ski valets will store and prepare the gear so all equipment is ready and waiting slopeside when guests are ready to hit the powder. Valets will even handle keeping skiers refreshed and warm in between runs by serving hot cocoa and other beverages at the chairlift base.

Winter 2009 season rates start at $245 per night for a superior guest room, based on double occupancy. For more information visit www.rockresorts.com or call 866-621-ROCK (7625).
