HFTP Controllers Conference Takes on Tough Economy
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals' (HFTP) Education Advisory Council has designed an education program for the Club and Hotel Controllers Conferences that address current hospitality controller issues.
The conferences are scheduled for March 16 - 17 at the Westin Tampa Harbour Island in Tampa, Fla. and June 23 - 24 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. Registration and the full conference schedule are available online.
Held twice-annually, the conference has an identical education program that includes general sessions and concurrent sessions with two industry-specific tracks, one for hotels and the other for clubs. Many topics addressed this year directly relate to the current economic crisis with sessions on habits successful people use to cope with hard times, how clubs can survive the recession, budgeting with a purpose, integrating systems to streamline costs and more.
"During this tough economy, it's more important than ever to stay educated on the industry," said Cheryl Brennan, CHAE, co-chair of the HFTP Education Advisory Council and controller at Bloomfield Hills Country Club. "The Education Advisory Council addressed this by including sessions that provide practical tips for attendees, as well as a forum for attendees to discuss ways to get through these difficult times."
Both conferences offer up to 13 continuing education credits and the opportunity to network with colleagues. The June conference is co-located with HITEC (Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference), the largest hospitality technology conference and exposition. Attending the June Club and Hotel Controllers Conference gives attendees access to the latest in club and hotel technology from the 300+ exhibitors at the HITEC exhibit hall. During the extended Tuesday lunch break, attendees can visit the exhibit hall special features - GUESTROOM 20X and the Club Technology Pavilion. Attendees are also invited to the HITEC Welcome Reception on Monday, June 22.
