Diego Heredia Appointed GM Of Viceroy Palm Springs
APRIL 14, 2009 - Nicholas Clayton, President of Kor Hotel Management, a growing global presence in luxury hospitality, is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Diego Heredia as General Manager of Viceroy Palm Springs. Diego will oversee all operations at the luxury desert resort and spa, renowned for wrapping guests in privacy, relaxation and distinctive style at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains.
"Diego brings nearly 20 years of focused hotel experience earned at top-tier properties, including some of Kor's own, and we're delighted to have him take up the reins at our Southern California desert address," said Clayton in making the announcement. "From F&B to hotel operations to spa management and more, Diego has consistently handled every challenge thrown at him and responded superlatively. We're happy to be able to promote him to head up one of our most admired properties."
Heredia has spent the past nine years at prominent hotel addresses throughout Southern California. Most recently he was Hotel Manager at Viceroy Palms Springs' sister property, Viceroy Santa Monica, where he was actively involved in the orientation of new hires and implementing service standards that not only enhanced the guest experience but caught the eye of Kor's corporate office. Before that, he was Hotel Manager at Avalon Hotel, another Kor Hotel Management address in Beverly Hills, where he also utilized his expertise to aid the openings of Tides properties in Zihuatanejo, Riviera Maya and South Beach.
Prior to joining Kor, Heredia spent several years working for Starwood Hotels & Resorts with gradually increasing responsibilities. He began as Front Desk Manager at The Westin Los Angeles Airport, moved onto Front Office Operations Manager and then Spa Manager at The Century Plaza Hotel and Spa, and finally landed as Director of Food & Beverage at Westin Hotel Pasadena. His last role witnessed a threefold increase in repeat business and unprecedented revenue gains. Meanwhile, he was also in charge of training new hires through Starwood's Rhythms of Hospitality.
Heredia got his start at Starwood as Restaurant General Manager at the Westin Galleria Oaks Hotels in Houston. He took a brief detour from hotel work into managing the Sabroso Grill Restaurant and Bar, a four-star restaurant in Houston, before moving on to become Front Desk Manager at The Westin Los Angeles Airport.
Born in Colombia and raised in Houston, Texas, Heredia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Conrad Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Houston.
