Dolce Announces Appointments and Promotions
MAY 11, 2009 - Dolce Hotels and Resorts, a privately held operator of 24 upscale hotels, resorts and conference centers in North America and Europe, today announced two key staff appointments and two promotions.
Daniel Dannenmann was named senior vice president, brand and development services, and Michael Goldrich was appointed director of global Web services and e-commerce. Paul Dolce was promoted to vice president of conference centers, North America, and Mike McNeill was promoted to vice president, operations, North American hotels and resorts.
Dannenmann, a resident of Morristown, N.J., is responsible for coordinating new hotel openings and overseeing brand support services including brand standards, quality control, voice of the customer and training.
He is a veteran of Marriott International Inc., where he served from 2000 to 2004, first as vice president, operations and franchise services for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and later as vice president, training, quality assurance and brand standards. Both positions supported more than 200 Ramada International hotels in 23 countries.
Dannenmann joined Wyndham Hotel Group LLC, a subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation in Parsippany, N.J., upon its acquisition of Ramada International in 2004 to serve as vice president, international training, quality assurance and organizational development.
He was named vice president of international managed and joint venture operations in 2007 and later that year became vice president, international brand services, responsible for all operational service departments outside of the Americas.
From 2008 until earlier this year, Dannenmann served the company as vice president of global training, responsible for training the owners and general managers of 7,000 franchised and managed hotels under 12 brands worldwide.
Among his other accomplishments, he led a task force that converted the Conrad Hotel London to the Wyndham(R) brand and established the company's first direct property management team in Europe.
A German national, Dannenmann received a master of business administration degree in 1993 from Clemson University, Clemson, S.C.; a certification of completion in finance and international law earlier that year from the International Institute of Business Studies, Munich, Germany; and a bachelor of arts degree in hospitality management in 1992 from the University of Central Florida, Orlando.
Dannenmann also studied hospitality management at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, and HotelConsult of the Swiss Hotel & Catering College, Switzerland. He graduated in 1986 from the M"orike Gymnasium in Germany, where he studied languages and the arts.
Goldrich, a resident of Scarsdale, N.Y., is responsible for managing and enhancing the Dolce.com Web site; serving as a central point of contact for the company's Internet development partner; implementing a customer relationship management program; and overseeing interactive marketing and social media.
He served Starwood Hotels & Resorts in White Plains, N.Y., from 2004 to 2008, first as senior project manager, then director, interactive marketing program management-global Web services. During his tenure, he managed a multimillion-dollar Web project management office, launched an award-winning social media site and directed the globalization of the company's Web sites including their translation into seven languages. He won the 2007 Gold Star award from Starwood for "outstanding work performance."
From 2003 to 2004 Goldrich was director of client services-interactive marketing for Monster Worldwide in White Plains, where he directed a team of 10 that managed banner advertising and e-mail campaigns, oversaw the Web site's performance and coordinated monthly e-mail consumer solicitations.
He worked in positions of various responsibilities from 1991 to 2003 beginning at Miller & Holbrooke, Washington; Accenture, New York; and Natwell Technology Partners LLC, Scarsdale.
Goldrich is a 1996 graduate of Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., where he received a master's degree in communications science, management and policy; and a 1989 graduate of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he earned a bachelor's degree in English.
In his new position, Dolce oversees the performance of the company's managed conference centers and serves as the lead corporate representative to their owners. His responsibilities include sales initiatives, relationships with key customers, financial results, customer service and human resources. He concurrently serves as general manager of The William F. Bolger Center in Potomac, Md.
Dolce previously was the company's regional vice president and general manager in Hartford, Conn., and hotel manager and director of sales and marketing in Florham Park, N.J. He also was global sales manager in Dolce's corporate office and national sales manager for Summit Sites, based in Houston. He got his start in 1986 as a sales manager at Dolce's Lakeway Resort and Spa in Austin, Texas.
He received the company's General Manager of the Year Award in 2005 and Global Sales Manager of the Year Award in 1994.
Dolce received his bachelor of arts degree from Stephen F. Austin University, Nacogdoches, Texas, in 1986, and serves on the U.S. Postal Service Supplier Council. He is a member of the International Association of Conference Centers and formerly served on its Marketing Committee.
In his new role, NcNeill is responsible for achieving financial targets for the company's managed hotels and resorts in North America, executing sales efforts through a broad range of channels, maintaining Four Diamond ratings for each hotel and resort and overseeing the professional development of senior property managers.
He previously served the company as regional vice president, overseeing the operation of Dolce's managed Doubletree Hotel Boston/Bedford Glen in Bedford, Mass.; the Dolce Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.; and the Dolce Atlanta-Peachtree in Peachtree City, Ga. He received Dolce's General Manager of the Year Award last year for his work in Bedford.
From 1993 to 2006, McNeill served in various operations and management roles at the Heritage Hotel, Southbury, Conn.; PGA National Resort & Spa, Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; Lansdowne Resort, Leesburg, Va.; and the Resort at Squaw Creek, Olympic Valley, Calif.
He is a 1992 graduate of California State University-Chico, where he received a bachelor's degree, and a resident of Littleton, Mass.
