Leaders Club Award Winners for 2005 Announced

World's Most Sophisticated Travelers Applaud Their Favorite Hotels

. October 14, 2008

NEW YORK, NY, November 10, 2005. The winners of the Seventh Annual Leaders Club Awards were announced during the 2005 Annual Convention of The Leading Hotels of the World held recently in New Delhi, India.

Launched in 1995, Leaders Club is the exclusive guest loyalty and recognition program of The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. Members' average individual net worth is in excess of USD 1.66 million, with a median annual income of USD 250,000. Nearly 40% of Leaders Club members are CEOs, company owners or presidents. More than 84% of them hold advanced educational degrees.

The principal criteria in determining the winners of the 2005 Awards were the appreciation letters received by The Leaders Club Services Department from Club Members themselves.

Taking the Gold Award this year was Hotel Le Palais in Prague, Czech Republic; the Silver Award was presented to Hotel Okura Amsterdam, Amsterdam, Holland; and the Bronze Award went to Hotel Jerome, in Aspen, Colorado. Each winner was presented with a commemorative plaque from Christofle, and a Blancpain watch.

One guest of Hotel Le Palais in Prague was quoted as having written, "From the moment we arrived to the train station and were welcomed by Wendy's warmth and charm, to the minute we departed, the hotel staff was absolutely flawless. Petra looked after us at each turn throughout our visit and Tomas was more than attentive to our every whim in the dining room."

She went on to note, "Our stay here even went beyond what we expect from a Leading Hotel! It was genuinely one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had."

"We immediately felt truly at home," began a letter complimenting Hotel Okura Amsterdam. "Even though this was our first visit, it almost seemed as though the staff knew what we wanted even before we did. They anticipated every detail. These levels of service and delivery are why we've come to trust Leading Hotels."

In praise of Hotel Jerome, one Leaders Club member wrote, "From the minute we walked in the door, we could feel the essence of Aspen at its best. There may be other 5-star hotels in town - but this one is the only one that could be called Leading. The service was so gracious and sincere, without being overweening. This was relaxed elegance at its best."

Commenting on the awards, company chairman Jean Jacques Gauer noted, "Through the Leaders Club Award Program, we pay tribute to those hotels whose thoughtful and creative contributions to the success of the Club are exemplary. Today we honor three hotels who have distinguished themselves in their outstanding efforts to ensure that the international sign of welcome - The Leaders Club - is a continued success."
