Innkeepers Trust Reported to be on Block
LOUISVILLE, KY, November 30, 2005. Innkeepers USA Trust, a lodging REIT that owns 70 hotels nation-wide, has put itself up for sale, according to analyst reports and other sources. Innkeepers reportedly has hired the Lehman Brothers investment banking firm to solicit bids.
In addition, analysts speculate that Innkeepers CEO Jeffrey Fisher would sell Innkeepers Hospitality, the private management company he owns. "This would allow Fisher a way of realizing the value of the management business in addition to the value of the REIT," noted UBS' Will Truelove.
A spokesman for Innkeepers declined to comment.
