Chattanooga Convention & Visitors Bureau Receives Award

CHATTANOOGA, TN, December 5, 2005. The Chattanooga Area Convention & Visitors Bureau received ConventionSouth magazines' Readers' Choice Award, for the second year in a row. There were 97 winners out of 2,000 CVBs and meeting sites nominated.

"Our goal is to maintain Chattanooga as a first-class destination for meetings and conventions," said Steve Genovesi, Vice President of Sales at the Chattanooga Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. "We are honored that top meeting professionals have selected us for our outstanding service, professionalism and expertise. It really highlights the great success of the community's collaborative efforts to provide that unforgettable experience."

The Readers' Choice Award is based on meeting professional's actual experiences with convention & visitors bureaus and meeting sites. Nominations were sent out through direct mail, promotions and were available on the ConventionSouth's website.

Meeting planners were asked to name the convention and visitor bureaus, convention centers, conference centers, hotels, resorts and other meeting sites that they believe displayed exemplary creativity and professionalism to groups.

The nominees were then carefully selected by an award committee based on the quantity of nominations they received, the quality of the nominations, comments and through random interviews with meeting planners. Readers' comments ranged from the very simple, "really great spot for meetings" and "first-class facility," to the very detailed, with some readers even bestowing accolades to particularly outstanding staff members.

"The value in receiving this recognition is that it comes from the United States' top meeting planners who book events in the South. These planners demand the highest level of customer service and quality facilities, and they have determined that the recipients of ConventionSouth's Readers' Choice Awards do indeed display the commitment to professionalism, creativity, excellence and outstanding customer service they require," said ConventionSouth President and Publisher, J.
