Masseria San Domenico, Puglia and the San Domenico House, Chelsea
LONDON, UK, January 14, 2006. As of 1st January 2006, public relations for the Masseria San Domenico in Puglia, southern Italy and the recently-opened San Domenico House on Chelsea's Draycott Place, are being handled by Mason Rose PR.
San Domenico Hotels, the group name for the two hotels is a family owned and run company headed up by Marisa Melpignano, a native of the Puglia region of Italy. Both hotels have been renovated and redesigned by Marisa who has sourced many of the fabrics and furniture from her travels around the world.
Masseria San Domenico, a member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World and Leading Spas of the World, lies about five hundred metres from the sea on the coast between Bari and Brindisi, an as yet undiscovered and unspoilt corner of Italy. One of the oldest watchtowers in Italy (built in the XV century), the Masseria was once used to warn against attacks by the Turks. Opened as a hotel in 1996, the Masseria San Domenico's whitewashed stone buildings stand out against a backdrop of blue sky and sea, amidst 100 hectares of ancient olive groves and orchards. Vegetables, fruit and olive oil, grown on the Masseria's own land, are used to create much of the hotel's delicious Apulian menus while seafood comes direct from the nearby Adriatic Coast. A filtered seawater outdoor pool, a private beach with chic cabanas, a renowned Thalassotherapy Spa and newly-unveiled 18 hole golf course, has led to the Masseria San Domenico becoming one of the most talked-about Italian five star hotels.
Having opened in April 2005, the San Domenico House is already gaining a reputation as one of London's finest boutique hotels. Located in the heart of fashionable Chelsea, this townhouse hotel has 16 luxury bedrooms and suites, each designed in different fabrics and colours. Business services are available and there is also a small meeting room with natural daylight, which seats 16 boardroom-style, while a rooftop terrace is the perfect place to hold a summer drinks party or small dinner. With a panoply of restaurants and cafes nearby, the San Domenico House compliments this by offering a room service menu with 'a flavour of Puglia'.
