San Domenico Hotels, the group name for the two hotels is a family owned and run company headed up by Marisa Melpignano, a native of the Puglia region of Italy. Both hotels have been renovated and redesigned by Marisa who has sourced many of the fabrics and furniture from her travels around the world.
Masseria San Domenico, a member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World and Leading Spas of the World, lies about five hundred metres from the sea on the coast between Bari and Brindisi, an as yet undiscovered and unspoilt corner of Italy. One of the oldest watchtowers in Italy (built in the XV century), the Masseria was once used to warn against attacks by the Turks.
