Greater Ft Lauderdale to Host Florida Huddle Jan, 29-31
FT LAUDERDALE, FL, January 24, 2006. Greater Fort Lauderdale will play host to the 2006 version of Florida Huddle later this month. The travel marketing showcase of all-things Florida will take place at the Greater Fort Lauderdale-Broward County Convention Center January 29-31. It is seen as the hallmark event of Florida's tourism industry.
Featuring more Florida travel product than any other trade show, Florida Huddle annually brings buyers and suppliers together on one grand scale, giving travel wholesalers and tour operators the opportunity to discover emerging Florida destinations, new hotels, resorts and restaurants, as well as transportation companies statewide. Travel influencers and representatives can arrange for scheduled appointments during the event's meeting periods, as well as interact at various mixers over the long weekend including a preview of the King Tut exhibition, and cocktail receptions at The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Travel influencers also will have the opportunity to get to know Greater Fort Lauderdale through several complimentary familiarization tours immediately following Florida Huddle. These include a shopping excursion at Sawgrass Mills Mall, where attendees will be among the first to visit the brand new upscale Colonnade Outlets; and an overnight trip to Billie Swamp Safari, an Everglades nature-viewing outfitter owned by the local Seminole Native Americans, where attendees can stay overnight in traditional chickee huts. In addition, the Marriott Hollywood Beach will be hosting a luncheon for travel influencers following Florida Huddle's closing session on January 31. Members of the press also are welcome to attend these destination familiarization activities.
"Florida Huddle is another extremely important event for Florida travel representatives, providing them with opportunities to meet a wide range of potential new business partners," said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. "Since August, Greater Fort Lauderdale has hosted Florida Encounter, the Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism, and the Florida Tourism Commission. Florida Huddle is yet another prestigious event in which Greater Fort Lauderdale is representing Florida to visiting travel influencers from around the world, and I'm confident that we'll do our great state - as well as our destination - proud."
