Hilton Group Shareholders Vote for Sale to Hilton Corp.
LONDON, UK, January 27, 2006. Shareholders in Hilton Group PLC voted overwhelmingly in favor of selling the group's hotels to its U.S. counter-part Hilton Hotels Corp., reuniting the two chains for the first time in more than 40 years. The U.K. group split from Hilton Hotels Corp. in the 1960s.
Proxy votes representing 99.86 pct of Hilton's ordinary equity voted in favor of the transaction, with 0.14 pct voting against the deal.
