OTTAWA, Ont, Canada, January 30, 2006. Mitel(R), the trusted provider of IP communications solutions, today announced that Voyages has successfully implemented Mitel IP Telephony solutions at several of their resorts in the Red Centre of Australia. Voyages is an Australian company, providing experience-based holidays in the Outback and the Great Barrier Reef, the Kimberley Region of Western Australia and Tasmania's Central Highlands. Voyages operate award-winning properties such as Ayers Rock Resort, Longitude 131 , Kings Canyon Resort, Lizard Island, Silky Oaks Lodge, and Cradle Mountain Lodge.

Greg Hucker, General Manager IT&T for Voyages said, "Our spectacular resorts offer a luxurious getaway for guests and the ultimate technology challenge for our IT team, as they are in some of the most remote wilderness locations in Australia. In some cases we operate on National Park land or even on World Heritage sites. Partnering with Mitel, Telstra Business Systems and Ericom, we have answered every challenge to deliver reliable voice services to our resorts."

Ericom, a Mitel accredited Gold Partner, designed the voice solutions for the Voyages resorts at Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. Utilizing the Mitel 3300 IP Communications Platform (ICP) at each resort, voice and data communications are provided by a combination of Telstra Private IP services, as well as radio and satellite based services. Installation and onsite Systems. Greg Hucker continued, "Our Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock Resorts are in the middle of the desert, hours from the nearest city. Providing memorable experiences is critical for our business and we rely on our phone systems to help deliver the highest level of service. Mitel's IP Telephony solution is rock solid for our resorts."

Voyages Ayers Rock Resort is the largest tourist resort in Australia, with more than 2500 traditional telephone handsets already in place. The challenge of extending a large existing environment was solved by integrating a Mitel 3300 ICP solution with the existing legacy phone system. Providing feature level integration, and presenting a single voice system to users, the new Mitel IP Telephony solution allows the latest voice technologies to be inexpensively incorporated at Ayers Rock Resort. Mitel IP Telephony handsets will be progressively deployed for new connections, and as part of ongoing refurbishment programs.

Gwilym Funnell, Mitel Australia Country Manager commented, "Mitel has over 30 years of experience in developing sophisticated business communications systems, making it easy to migrate to the latest Mitel IP Telephony technologies without throwing out your existing investment."
