Korea University's 100th anniversary Global Taekwondo Championship 02 & 03 July 2005
Continuing on from 'Korea University's National Taekwondo Championship for Teenagers' in 2003 and 2004, we are pleased to inform you that 'Korea University 100th Anniversary Global Taekwondo Championship' will be held from July 2-3, 2005 in Seoul, the capital of Korea and the centre of taekwondo. This championship, endorsed by KTA (Korea Taekwondo Association) and sponsored by Korea University, is a commemoration of Korea University's 100th anniversary and will carry the theme of celebrating peace and harmony through taekwondo. Taekwondo is the unique form of martial arts in Korea and has developed to become a global sport with 50 million members in 180 countries around the world. Jeju-Island Ironman Triathlon 24th - 29th August
Jeju Island, one of the world's most beautiful islands, is located 150 kilometres off the Korean Peninsula at the junction of the Yellow Sea, East Sea, South Sea, and East China Sea. The host city is Seogwipo City, which successfully staged the event in 2000 and 2001. Seogwipo was also a 2002 FIFA World Cup host venue and is proud to have one of the world's most spectacular stadiums. Seogwipo is located in a subtropical zone; it is an ideal lead-up race to Hawaii, as it has the look and feel of Kona due to its blend of volcanic rock and humid climate. The race will start on the white sands of Jungmun Beach, and will tour Jeju Island's fishing villages and volcanic foothills on the bike section and finish at the spectacular 2002 World Cup Stadium. 2005 Gwangju Design Biennale - 18th October to November 3rd, 2005
In October, the city of Gwangju will be hosting a major International event, the 1st Gwangju Design Biennale, with the purpose of exploring the vibrant emerging culture and world of design at the dawn of the 21st Century. Following up on the success of the "Design Pre-Biennale" hosted last year, the first Gwangju Design Biennale will be held under the theme of "Light Into Life" and seeks to delve, from various perspectives, into the values of Asian design and culture, and to probe numerous intriguing aspects of design and its possible effect on future human life.

Kimchi Expo November 2005
The Munhwa Ilbo will be hosting the 4th annual "Kimchi Expo," an international festival celebrating Korea's most popular traditional food. The festival aims to redefine the importance of Kimchi in the Korean diet and examine the potential for Kimchi as a popular health food the world over.
