International CHRIE to Provide Faculty Internships with Industry Partners
RICHMOND, VA, February 15, 2006. International CHRIE is pleased to announce its collaboration with a number of our corporate partners to offer faculty internships this summer. Hyatt Hotels & Resorts; Marriott International; and Red Lobster have already signed on to provide this opportunity to our members. Watch for future details in the CHRIE Communiqu'e.
"For hospitality companies, the I-CHRIE faculty internships are something worth investing in" says Dr. Fred DeMicco, Professor and ARAMARK Chair of HRIM, the University of Delaware, and Director of Marketing on the I-CHRIE Board of Directors. "The companies have no better spokesperson than a faculty member sharing summer experiences with their students come fall semester. Students respect the opinion of their faculty and advisors, and faculty members build bridges for students to cross with companies they know best and trust. For a company considering hosting a faculty member it is easy. Mary Butcher and Kathy McCarty of I-CHRIE have the internship process down to a science. They work with you to tailor the internships to your specifications. This is truly an investment that pays huge dividends to attract the best and brightest students to your company. For the faculty member - the industry experience can be akin to a "mini sabbatical" - a chance to recharge and energize your educational skills and sharpen your industry perspective."
Typically, companies wishing to offer summer internship programs have information posted sometime in late February or early March with submission deadlines sometime in April or early May. Any company wishing to offer internship programs for faculty this summer will have their company logo posted on this page. Each logo will link to the program description and any links and application information for the I-CHRIE faculty internships being offered in the Summer of 2006.
