ORLANDO, FL, September 5, 2006. The magnificent renovation is complete. The largest Marriott in the world, the 2,000-room, award-winning, Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center, unveiled the stunning 38,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom this month and meeting planners are taking notice. The cutting-edge ballroom features stylish designs, easy access to multiple hang points, an excellent house sound system and new air-wall divisibility that adds a new element of flexibility for groups. Impressive 22-foot ceilings, state-of-the-art technology and sophisticated lighting are an integral part of this incredible transformation. "Our convention center has risen to a whole new level in terms of its physical ability to accommodate the demands of our groups," said Tim Swan, director of sales and marketing.

A preferred meeting destination for planners across the globe, the resort continues to go above and beyond guest's expectations with skilled staff, exceptional location and 214,000 square-feet of total meeting space and more on the way. Last year, a $6.5 million redesign of the convention center atrium added over 31,000 square feet of flexible space for receptions, networking and other group activities. Just 18-months prior, the 40,000 square-foot Crystal Ballroom was transformed to rave reviews.

Next year, the resort will open the 105,000 square-foot Cypress Ballroom, resulting in over 400,000 square-feet of flexible space, almost entirely on one level, making it one of the leading convention facilities in the United States. The Cypress Ballroom, will also become the largest pillar-free resort ballrooms in the nation, and will connect to the existing Palms Ballroom to provide over 160,000 square-feet of contiguous, pillar-free, carpeted space for tradeshows and special events. There will be 10 new loading docks and extra wide service corridors to facilitate an efficient back-of-house load-in and load-out experience.

Currently, those looking to book smaller groups can take advantage of the 500-room North Tower that provides 14,000 square-feet of dedicated space. All 66 existing meeting rooms offer T1 internet access and wireless service is available throughout the building.
