Radisson Riverwalk Becomes Wyndham

. October 14, 2008

JACKSONVILLE, FL, April 03, 2006. The Radisson Riverwalk Hotel here will officially convert to the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts flag on April 12, the Business Journal of Jacksonville reports.

The soon-to-be Wyndham has already started a projected $3-million conversion and renovation process, including soft renovations of guestrooms and common areas. The hotel has also changed general managers and altered that position's traditional title to director of hotel operations.

"I've got a room full of furniture waiting to go into some of our guestrooms," said Jared McLachlan, director of operations at the Radisson. "We want to get as much done as we can by our official conversion date."

The Radisson is the last of four major downtown hotels to undergo renovation or brand change, all of which have happened since Jan. 1, 2005. The former Adam's Mark hotel became the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront; the Hilton Jacksonville Riverfront changed over to Crowne Plaza Jacksonville Riverfront; and the Omni Jacksonville Hotel embarked on a significant renovation project.

These hotels are the anchors of convention and group business in the city, with more than 150,000 square feet of meeting space and more than 1,500 rooms.
