Frank Santos to Head Canine Companions Sponsorship Committee

Committee To Seek Much Needed Donations from Hospitality Industry for Annual Gala

. October 14, 2008

ORLANDO (April 5, 2006) - Canine Companions for Independence is gearing up for its 10th annual Tails and Tales Gala this November and is turning to the hospitality industry for much needed support. The national non-profit organization is hoping to raise donations from industry friends for the gala's silent auction and raffles to support their mission of enhancing the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs.

Frank Santos, CFO, Rosen Hotels & Resorts and HFTP past International president, is heading the event's sponsorship committee to solicit these donations, which in turn will provide sponsors with distinctive and prominent exposure to the community and business leaders of Central Florida. The committee will be working with hotels, airlines, golf courses and other hospitality-related companies to secure donations and sponsorships for the consistently sold-out Tails and Tales Gala, scheduled for Nov. 11 at Ports of Call at Sea World in Orlando.

Santos will be hosting a reception on Tuesday, April 18 at 6:00 p.m. at the Rosen Centre in Orlando for those interested in being part of the committee.

"I've been involved with Canine Companions for more than 10 years, and am honored and proud to be able to contribute to this rewarding gala," says Santos. "I look forward to working with my peers in HFTP, AHLA and hospitality industry colleagues to help support this incredible charity. The gala is an exciting way for our communities to give the priceless gift of independence to people with disabilities."

The Tails and Tales Gala raises funds to support canine breeding, raising and training programs. For some graduates of Canine Companions, having an assistant dog means the ability to live without a full-time attendant for the first time. For others, it is a chance to regain independence lost through accident or illness. But for all, the unconditional and assistance of a Canine Companion gives extra confidence and freedom.
