Carlyle Group Buys Radisson LA Westside
Hires Davidson as Operator
CULVER CITY, CA, April 12, 2006. In an off-market deal, the Radisson Los Angeles Westside here has been acquired by the private equity firm Carlyle Group for an undisclosed price. In conjunction with the purchase, Carlyle hired Davidson Hotel Co. to operate the asset.
The unnamed original developers of the 368-room hotel sold it to Carlyle, which will, along with Davidson, now carry out a $3.5 million renovation of the property's guestrooms and 20,000 square feet of meeting space. During the past 18 months, multimillion-dollar renovations were completed at the hotel.
In the next and final renovation phase, Radisson's Sleep Number bedding system will be installed.
The project is scheduled to begin this summer and conclude by the end of the year.
Located at 6161 West Centinela Ave., the hotel features a heated swimming pool, a whirlpool, a fitness center and two dining establishments.
Davidson, which already manages other hotels for Carlyle in Coral Gables, FL, and Austin, TX, also is expected to manage the Westin Annapolis in Annapolis, MD, when Carlyle opens that property in 2007.
