Galileo Signs with Six Hotel Chains

. October 14, 2008

APRIL 21, 2006. Galileo International is signing agreements with the following hotel chains, which will see them added to its Best Available Rate (BAR) program:

Abba Hotels

Great Hotels Organisation

Hotusa Hotels

Keytel

Maritim Hotels

Millennium & Copthorne Hotels

Supranational HotelsThe Galileo BAR program enables major hotel chains to provide travel agents with access to the best available published, non-restricted rates offered either online or over the phone via the hotel chain's reservation line. The addition of these chains increases the inventory in the Galileo BAR programme by more than 2000 properties.

Galileo BAR is an exclusive programme for all Galileo-connected travel agents that ensures agents can be absolutely confident the rate displayed on their desktop is the best rate available in any channel, and so they can provide their customers with the best service in the most efficient way.

"Our Best Available Rate program provides travel agents with the reassurance that the rate they see is the best available. This addresses the inconsistency of hotel rates across distribution channels and allows our travel agents to save time by only needing to search in one place," said Jane Lewis, Director of Hospitality, Cendant Travel Distribution Services. "We are continuing to add more content to our BAR offering, enabling us to be in a position of clear leadership while our competitors are just getting off the ground."

Properties participating in BAR are now identified with an exclamation mark in the display screen. This new indicator makes it easy for agents to identify a BAR hotel, ensuring that they are booking at the best available, non-restricted rate.
