Destination Hotels & Resorts Adds 33rd Property with Opening of the Prospector Inn in Roslyn, WA
More Properties Than Ever in the Destination Collection
DENVER, CO, July 5, 2005. Carles Peck, president and chief operating officer for Destination Hotels & Resorts, today announced that the hospitality management company's portfolio has grown to the largest in its history with the addition of its 33rd property the Prospector Inn at Suncadia in Roslyn, Wash.
"The opening of the Prospector Inn is an exciting milestone for Destination and the Suncadia project," said Peck. "It marks a high point for our company as we now have more hotels and resorts under our management than ever before. And, for Suncadia, this is the first of many great openings that will shape the resort community into one of the most coveted in the Northwest."
The Prospector Inn is an 18-room intimate retreat located in Suncadia, Washington's first all-season destination resort. The Prospector Inn was designed to reflect the rustic flair of a mountain home. The design of the building captures the essence of lodges in the Northwest, while drawing from the area's rich mining history. A grand two-story stone fireplace welcomes guests into the Inn. Design accents that carry out this distinctive look include copper, rod iron and antique gas lamps.
Guest rooms are comfortably appointed with comforters, fireplaces and desks complete with rocking chairs to enjoy the panoramic mountain views. The bathrooms at the Prospector Inn also have a unique charm with rustic barn doors that roll open and closed, as well as separate shower and bathtub with shutters separating the bathtub from the rest of the guest room.
"The Inn is the first of two lodging properties, managed by Destination that will open at Suncadia over the next three years," said Tom Luersen, managing director of operations for Destination. "The resort community is located less than 90 minutes east of Seattle providing easy access to the surrounding mountain region and beautiful Cle Elum River valley."
The resort encompasses 6,000 acres on the Cle Elum River. Once completed, the resort community will include a village with shops, galleries and restaurants, a grand lodge located on a bluff 250 feet above the river, a state-of-the-art conference center, three golf courses, a 45,000-square-foot village resident complex, luxury condominiums, town homes, cabins, custom homes and custom home sites. All surrounded by 40 miles of hiking, biking, cross country ski and snow shoe trails.
The Prospector Inn at Suncadia currently is offering a $185 per person, per night "Golf Stay and Play" package to experience the property and the par-72 Prospector Golf Course designed by Palmer Course Design Company, the first of three planned golf courses at Suncadia. The package includes two nights lodging and up to four rounds of golf per person including shared cart and practice range sessions. The full package rate is $740 based on double occupancy and a two-night minimum stay. Other restrictions apply. Package available through September 2005.
