Marco Polo, Beijing Re-names and Re-brands

. October 14, 2008

BEIJING, China, June 5, 2006. As part of Marco Polo Hotels development and marketing strategy, the Marco Polo Beijing has been re-named as the Marco Polo Xidan, Beijing.

The change follows a recent brand assessment exercise in which the group defined a brand system aimed at disseminating the essence of the Marco Polo brand and service delivery to customers. With a district locator added to the name of the hotel, Marco Polo Xidan now clearly denotes its location and differentiates itself from its soon to be opened sister hotel, Marco Polo Parkside, Beijing.

Marco Polo Xidan is conveniently located at the gateway to the Western District's "Financial Street"; it is an easy 2-minutes walk to the Bank of China's world headquarters. Major landmarks are just minutes away via the fast and efficient Beijing metro system, only steps away from the Marco Polo Xidan's superb location.

The hotel is adjacent to Capital Times Square, one of the most popular shopping and entertainment complexes in Beijing.

Marco Polo Parkside is located in the exclusive Chaoyang District of Beijing. Part of a mixed-use development project, the hotel is situated only 600 meters from the 2008 Beijing Olympic Village, with easy access to Beijing Metro Route 5 and Route 10 (at Olympic Park) and 20 minutes' drive from the Beijing International Airport. Marco Polo Parkside is scheduled to open at the end of 2006.

"With a clear naming system, our hotel brand name is now aligned. We will continue to expand the Marco Polo network; build brand awareness and equity, making Marco Polo the brand of choice for business and leisure travelers worldwide." Said Mr. Jeff Flowers, President of Marco Polo Hotels.
