MINNEAPOLIS, MN, June 20, 2006. Softscribe Inc., a technology public relations firm focused on driving sales for companies targeting the US government, healthcare and hospitality markets, today announced at HITEC 2006 the launch of a new college internship program.

The part-time program provides a supportive environment for college students to learn sales-focused public relations and enter the marketing profession, with a focus on hospitality industry marketing strategy. Softscribe's first intern is Adam Travis, a senior marketing major at Georgia State University. Mr. Travis' initial duties as Account Coordinator include setting up online public relations campaigns, coding news releases, computer maintenance, and interfacing with industry publications and Softscribe's clients.

Softscribe's President, Michael Squires, said, "A college internship program is a win-win for both the students and Softscribe. Working with e-savvy interns allows our company to gain fresh insights on the newest online tools colleges are teaching." Squires noted that interns like Adam need an opportunity to experience real world business situations before they formally enter their profession. "The new program gives motivated students a chance to explore different industries and apply their abilities." Softscribe's focus on three separate industries gives interns a wide scope of experience with a variety of marketing strategies.

Fred Gittinger, vice president of human resources for Softscribe, said, "We evaluate applicants in college business programs who are articulate and possess a serious desire to learn marketing and sales in a professional environment. Adam stood out among more than a dozen applicants, three of whom we personally interviewed." Adam comes to Softscribe with hospitality experience, and is completing an undergraduate degree in marketing. Gittinger explained, "His resume was excellent, but Adam's exceptional people skills closed the deal."

Travis was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia. After finishing high school he moved to Atlanta to attend Georgia State University. While attending GSU, Travis worked in the restaurant industry progressing from serving and bar tending to a management position. He also did other small marketing jobs that incorporated sales and focus groups. Mr. Travis' outside interests include sports such as tennis, golf, baseball, skateboarding, running, hiking, camping and volunteer activities with inner city youth. His most recent project was building the only free skateboarding ramp in downtown Atlanta, a facility that attracts 60 youths per week. Adam is always looking for opportunities to grow and learn, which makes him an important contributor to Softscribe's mission of adding value to clients.
