Agoda Signs Full Content Distribution Deal with Accor Asia Pacific
SINGAPORE, December 12, 2006. Agoda (www.agoda.com), an independent online travel company that specializes in securing the lowest discount hotel prices in Asia and around the world, today announced a full content distribution agreement with Accor Asia Pacific, representing a major distribution partnership for Accor in the region.
This provides Accor with a platform that enables the quickly expanding hotel and resort brand to sell inventory online more effectively through Agoda's comprehensive market coverage throughout the region.
"Providing competitive hotel content and the best available rates are top priorities at Agoda. We're pleased to once again deliver on this key requirement," said Wilfred Fan, Agoda's Vice President, Business Development. "Securing a distribution agreement with a hotel and resort brand as strong as Accor underscores our ability to provide an efficient, user-friendly marketplace to our consumers."
"We've clearly stated our desire to bring the widest breadth of hotel content to our users. By successfully negotiating this agreement with Accor, we've added further incentive to use Agoda.com. We remain committed to working with our hotel partners to secure and distribute their content, while at the same time enabling them to reach their distribution and revenue objectives."
According to Ray Stone, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Accor Asia Pacific, Accor hotels chose Agoda based on the size of its regional distribution network and market reputation.
"Agoda has an impressive regional footprint and we are delighted to have been able to gain access to Agoda members across the Asia Pacific region," stated Stone. "This new agreement allows us to extend our inventory to the ever-growing online consumer market.
At the same time, Agoda will help further expand our rate parity and dynamic pricing strategy, making it easier for customers to make buying decisions based on value-added considerations instead of price."
In celebration of the new relationship, Agoda will be offering a special incentive to its customers. Selected Accor properties in Asia booked through Agoda will earn double Rewards Points through the company's innovative loyalty program, which allows repeat customers to earn points for additional discounts and free stays at any of their 27,000+ properties worldwide. The promotion will include many popular brands such as Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure, and Ibis hotels in Shanghai, Beijing, Bangkok, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, and Manila. The offer will last until the end of 2006.
