FT LAUDERDALE, FL, July 27, 2006. Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, has been named one of the "Top 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry" by Meeting News Magazine.

Nicki was specifically recognized for her leadership following Hurricane Wilma. In announcing the list of the most influential people in the meetings industry, Meetings News noted that Ms. Grossman "tirelessly promoted the whole state after the difficult hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005, an effort that precursed her unanimous selection last month as chair, come 2007, of statewide tourism agency Visit Florida."

Nicki was also recognized for the creation of Greater Fort Lauderdale's successful summer meeting booking incentive program.

"It is a tremendous honor to be included with such distinguished company," said Grossman. "This kind of recognition can't happen without support from our County Commission and County Administrator. I consider myself fortunate to have a dedicated and knowledgeable CVB team working to ensure that Greater Fort Lauderdale's record breaking growth as a meetings and conventions destination continues."

The "Top 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry" were nominated by Meetings News editors and staff and were chosen based on their achievements, dedication and vision within the meetings industry.
