John and Lindy Rydman Donating $250,000 to UH Hilton School of Hotel and Restaurant Management

MAY 15, 2009 - John and Lindy Rydman, owners of Spec's Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods, were the honored guests of University of Houston System Chancellor and UH President Renu Khator at a dinner held at Wortham House on April 27. The Rydmans, longtime supporters of the Hilton College and a founding sponsor of the College's Wine & Spirits Management Institute (W&SMI), recently pledged $250,000 to the College through the Spec's Charitable Foundation. To date, the Foundation has contributed more than $550,000 to support the Hilton College's Beverage Management programs. Before dinner, the Rydmans presented President Khator with a $65,000 payment on their pledge.
