SEPTEMBER 3, 2009 - The owners of the legendary Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires are investing $60 million in the addition of two new properties, Alvear Plaza San Martin and Alvear Puerto Madero. These exciting projects are anticipated to open in Buenos Aires in 2012.

Development has begun on Alvear Plaza San Martin, located on Suipacha Street, between Santa Fe and Marcelo T. de Alvear. The setting will be a magnet for business travelers drawn by the hotel's easy proximity to the commercial center of the city. The 150-room hotel will boast state-of-the-art meeting and events rooms, and an exclusive Fitness Center. With an investment of $20 million, the Alvear Plaza San Martin will match the overall excellence in service, style and exclusivity that has earned the Alvear Palace Hotel such wide and enduring renown.

The Alvear Puerto Madero, a $40 million development, is expected to commence soon on a site located on Aim'e Pain'e Street. The new hotel will include 150 guest rooms and suites, as well as 40 luxurious residences offering owners full advantage of all hotel services. Special features within the building will include a 1,000-capacity ballroom, state-of-the-art meeting rooms and a Spa. Located on the 21st and 22nd floors, the Spa will offer panoramic views of the city, and house an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor solarium. An exclusive restaurant is also planned at 135 meters (approximately 440 feet) above the hotel's ground floor, with access for diners by direct high-speed elevators.

The Alvear Palace Hotel is excited to expand its family with two new hotels while continuing to offer discerning customers the highest-quality service and hospitality in Latin America.r.
