K Partners Commences Construction of Courtyard By Marriott Houma, LA

SEPTEMBER 17, 2009 - San Antonio, Texas-based K Partners Hospitality Group, LP today announced it secured financing and has commenced construction on the $22 million Courtyard by Marriott Houma, Louisiana.

The 144-room Courtyard will be situated adjacent to the Houma Civic Center, a 100,000 square-foot center used for various trade shows, conventions, sporting events and concerts.

With one of the fastest-growing economies in the nation, Houma is currently experiencing growth in the oil and gas, medical, industrial and renewable energy sectors.

The Courtyard will feature an oversized lobby with a restaurant and lounge area, complimentary high-speed internet access and wireless internet in public areas; 7,000 square-feet of function and meeting space; an expansive outdoor swimming pool and an additional indoor pool; a lobby lounge with an outdoor veranda and outdoor meeting space; the Central Bistro, serving an assortment of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner; an oversized exercise room; state-of-the-art audio visual equipment; and a business center. Additionally, the new, updated lobby will feature the Courtyard trademarked GoBoard, a state-of-the-art, touch-screen information center with the time, weather, local headlines and events, sports, and restaurant recommendations.

The oversized plush rooms include double queen- or king-sized beds, an in-room entertainment package, luxury bedding and pillows; guest laundry services and a large, ergonomic chair and workspace, ideal for business or leisure travelers. The property will also be equipped with a large number of suites, along with its traditional guest room offerings.
