Lodging Employee of the Year Awardedto Maryclaire Pendergast
DAYTONA BEACH, FL, October 8, 2009 - The Hotel & Lodging Association of Volusia County under the leadership of Bob Davis CEO / President, recognized their employees at the 5th annual employee of the year appreciation luncheon. It was held at the new Mori Hosseini Center located on the campus of Daytona State College
Awards were given to hospitality employees, nominated by their respective properties, who were deemed as exemplary in their commitment and attention to customer service.
Award winners included:

Lodging Employee of the Year Maryclaire Pendergast (The Shores Resort and Spa);

Bellperson of the Year Dylan Delsman (The Shores Resort and Spa);

Room Attendant of the Year Sarah Wilson (20 years at the Sun Viking Lodge);

Guest Services Employee of the Year Janie Powell (Marriott International) and Arlene Haltiwanger (Best Western Castillo Del Sol);

Food and Beverage Employee of the Year Dave Libor (11 years at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront);

Engineer/Maintenance Employee of the Year Kyle Gantous (30 years at the Ramada Inn Speedway)

Sales and Marketing Employee of the Year Janice Griffin, with over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry (Bahama House);
-
Security Employee of the Year Ryan Wood (Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront).
Each winner received $100 bonus and a plaque.
Evelyn Fine, President / CEO of Mid Florida Marketing and Research received the first Tom Staed Hospitality Award recognizing her for all her years of work in the hospitality industry.
Bob Davis stated "we are who we are because of our employees." Look at the longevity of these employees at their hotels, wow.
