Cocktail with a View: Marriott Marquis Presents New Van Gogh Vodka Martini
New Cafe Caramel Martini Comes with a 'Sweet' View for a Limited Time
OCTOBER 20, 2009 - How sweet it would be, if it were possible to combine your dessert and your cocktail into one drink.
New York's Marriott Marquis hotel, home to the only revolving rooftop restaurant in NYC, and Van Gogh Vodka have partnered to offer a special, limited-edition cocktail called the Cafe Caramel Martini ($16). Exclusive to the Marriott, located in the heart of Times Square, the new martini will be featured on their cocktail menu from now until New Year's Eve - December 31st, 2009.
Bar meets baker as this drink is a delicious collaboration between the Marriott's Beverage Director, Rene Matos, and its Executive Pastry Chef, Steve Evetts. Always on top of the latest trends, this dessert in a glass features Van Gogh Vodka's decadent Dutch Caramel Vodka, their newest flavor carrying undertones of vanilla and chocolate with an intense finish of caramel and a dash of coffee. Van Gogh's Double Espresso Vodka also adds a rich, toasted shade of brown with a bold espresso punch and a kick of caffeine. Add Chef Steve Evetts' house-made caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream and garnish with a cholive - a chocolate flavored truffle in the shape of an olive- and you've been served your just desserts.
“The Marriott is proud to introduce a new Van Gogh dessert cocktail for a limited time - named the Cafe Caramel Martini - and offer guests a 'sweet' view overlooking all that Times Square has to offer,” says, Rene Matos. “The dessert martini has become increasingly popular at our hotel because it combines two great after dinner treats into one.”
