BOLTON LANDING, NY, August 4, 2005. A year-round luxury resort on Lake George, the Sagamore now adds a trio of distinctions that further underscore its commitment to service and guest satisfaction.

The 350-room property has recently been accepted into Virtuoso, the prestigious network of travel agents who specialize in connecting travelers to the world's most sought-after vacation destinations. To be deemed a Virtuoso property, hotels must demonstrate a proven track record of superior service. Guests who book The Sagamore through a Virtuoso agent receive a range of added services and amenities, including $50 Resort Bucks certificate redeemable during the stay in the restaurants and shops.

The resort has recently joined the highly-regarded American Express Fine Hotels & Resorts program. Available to American Express Platinum Cardholders, this program of special services and amenities includes breakfast for two each day in The Sagamore Dining Room, dinner for two one evening, and a 4pm late check-out.

The Sagamore recently received Successful Meetings magazine's Pinnacle Award. Considered the highest achievement for meeting, incentive and convention properties, the award reflects the professional opinion of the magazine's authoritative readership. The property will be listed in Successful Meetings' annual Pinnacle Registry in August.

The Sagamore is no stranger to awards and accolades. Originally built in 1883, the 70-acre island resort is widely considered the area's most beloved property, a AAA Four Diamond award-winner for 20 years and it is an acknowledged landmark in its Adirondack environs. The resort consistently attains honors that are testament to its singular setting, standards and service.

Located 60 miles north of Albany via Interstate 87, The Sagamore is a leisurely drive from most Mid-Atlantic, New England, Quebec and Ontario Province metropolitan areas, and is just a four-hour drive from New York City or Boston. Other travel options are available, including air transportation and Amtrak train service to Albany - the latter, a highlight in itself. The train travels along New York's historic Hudson River Valley offering spectacular scenery in a relaxing setting. From Albany, guests of The Sagamore can request ground transportation - an hour's drive for a nominal fee.
