Kendall College Adds Faculty to School of Hospitality Management

NOVEMBER 19, 2009 - Sabina C. Rehmann (Master of Advanced Studies, Marketing and Business Administration) has been appointed to the faculty of the School of Hospitality Management at Kendall College. Rehmann, who joined Kendall this fall, has a diverse background spanning 15 years of international hospitality finance and marketing management.

'A former student of mine, Ms. Rehmann is a welcome addition to our teaching faculty. Her extensive background in managing the marketing, development and financial strength of internationally acclaimed hotels makes her an ideal fit for this position. We are certain that her ability to bring personal examples of industry experience to the classroom will be of great benefit to our students in this program,' said Jeffrey Catrett, Dean of Kendall's School of Hospitality Management.

Over the past two years as Director of Strategic Planning and Development with Swissotel Management LLC, Rehmann has been responsible for analyzing the operational feasibility of new development projects, with the ongoing goals of reducing costs and increasing profitability. During any due diligence process, Rehmann supervised all corporate deparments consisting of Finance, Sales and Marketing and Design and Construction. Coordinating with the Vice President of Operations, she developed and implemented new Food and Beverage concepts for all Swissotel operations including strategic positioning, market segmentation and promotion.

Prior to joining Swissotel, Rehmann spent over two years as the Brand Manager Foodsolutions with Unilever Switzerland. During this time, she also earned her Master of Advanced Studies degree in Marketing & Business Administration from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Basel in Switzerland.

Rehmann began her hospitality experience while obtaining her Bachelor's degree at Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne, working as an Intern in various highly regarded hotels and restaurants. Upon the successful completion of her degree, she worked with Four Seasons Hotel in Berlin where she held positions of progressive responsibility, equipping her for high management positions that followed at Park Hyatt Paris Vendome, Hyatt Regency Mainz and Park Hyatt Zurich. She was involved with the successful openings of both Park Hyatt Vendome in 2002 and Park Hyatt Zurich in 2004. Rehmann is a native of Basel, Switzerland. 'I am thrilled to have my career take on a new direction and focus by teaching at Kendall College,' Rehmann said. 'This is my first position in the United States, and Chicago is an amazing place to live.'
