UK Travel Industry Entrepreneur and Philanthopist Recognised With Community Award

LONDON, UK - 6 March 10 - Veteran travel industry entrepreneur, hotelier and property developer, Mr.
Joginder Sanger was recently awarded the Community Award at the House of
Commons, in recognition of his outstanding lifelong dedication to
philanthropic work in the United Kingdom and abroad.

During a ceremony held at the House of Commons, Rev. Jesse Jackson, well- known African American civil rights leader presented the award to Mr. Sanger, described in the citation as a "Gentleman who has devoted much of his time to fundraising and philanthropic work with success."

On accepting the award, Mr. Sanger said “I have been fortunate enough in life to become successful in my endeavours and felt compelled to share this goodwill with others, I am both humbled and honoured by this award as there are many others who deserve it more; I only did what everyone is expected to do," he stated.

Now a well-known figure in the London business community, Mr. Sanger started out with a small travel agency in East London in 1965 and has since built up a number of businesses including hotel properties such as the Courthouse Doubletree by Hilton, The Bentley London Waldorf Astoria Collection and the Washington Mayfair Hotel, as well as travel agencies and property developments, providing thousands of jobs in the process.

As Chairman of Mast Craft Ltd, Sanger continues to play an active role in overseeing his business empire, whilst devoting significant time and resources to supporting philanthropic and community projects, particularly in the Indian arts and culture. His many achievements in this arena include playing an instrumental role in fundraising for the construction of the United Kingdom's largest Hindu temple near Birmingham
